Swatching

Shadow Tweed on 5.5mm needles: too tight
6.5mm needles – much more drape to the garter stitch.
May just check 6mm needles to be certain.

Planning on knitting the Garter Stitch Swingy Cardi – Garter = easy peasy knitting, Shadow Tweed should give soft stripes to add a little something to the simplicity, and I like the off-centre front.

Now to make pumpkin soup for grown-ups, and fish’n’veges for kids. It is raining and autumnal outside, and I’d rather knit, but at least I have a new podcast to listen to whilst slaving in the kitchen!

  1. That’s a very cute cardi, and the stripes will make it extraordinary.
It’s sunny here, I’ve made a chicken risotto for tea. Cool, but sunny here.

  2. Swatching is a good idea especially for garter stitch which can be a bit stretchy!

It was sunny, windy and 36*C here today – not autumn-like at all!

  3. Had a quick look at the cardi….I’m not sure I could cope with that much garter stitch!!! Would look wonderful with a hint of stripe. Where’s the piccies of the yarn? Of course I could look it up on Rav but that’s no fun 🙂
